- Used to manage malaria
✔️ Dosage of Quinine sulfate
- Adults (≥ 16 years of age): 648 mg (two capsules) every 8 hours for 7 days.
- Patients with severe chronic renal impairment: One loading dose of 648 mg (two capsules) followed by 324 mg (one capsule) every 12 hours for 7 days.
✔️ Use in Specific Populations
- Renal impairment: Adjust dose and dosing frequency for patients with severe chronic renal impairment.
- Hepatic impairment: Avoid use in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C).
- Pregnancy: Use only if potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
